Our commitment to accuracy and transparency
Who Writes This Content
Every practice-area page, injury page, borough page, and long-form article on aeelaw.com is written and reviewed by attorneys at Antin, Ehrlich & Epstein, LLP. Jeff Antin, partner, is the byline author on our data-driven /insights/ articles. Other firm attorneys author and review content within their practice areas.
Our firm has handled personal injury cases in New York for 35+ years, with verdicts and settlements in Bronx Supreme, Kings County, New York County, Queens County, and Richmond County. That courtroom record shapes what we write about and how we write about it.
Research Standards
We cite primary sources directly. When a page discusses the 90-day Notice of Claim rule, we link General Municipal Law § 50-e. When a page discusses the "serious injury" threshold, we link Insurance Law § 5102(d). When we quote crash statistics, we link the NYC DOT or NYPD data set the number came from.
Statistics and case figures come from identifiable sources: NYC Comptroller claim reports, NYS Department of Motor Vehicles traffic records, NYC DOT Vision Zero data, the NYPD Motor Vehicle Collisions database, the New York Jury Verdict Reporter, and our own case files. If a number appears on our site without a source, it's an error. Report it and we'll fix it.
Review Process
Before any substantive page publishes, it passes through four stages. An attorney or legal writer produces the initial draft. A senior attorney reviews it for legal accuracy against the cited statutes and case law. A content editor reviews for clarity and plain-language accessibility. The byline attorney gives final approval.
Pages are re-reviewed whenever relevant law changes. Recent examples: when the Grieving Families Act was vetoed in 2022 and revised in 2023, our wrongful-death pages were updated within weeks. When the Adult Survivors Act created a one-year lookback window in November 2022, our related pages were updated to reflect the new filing process.
What This Content Is and Isn't
This is educational content about New York personal injury law. It is not legal advice about your specific case. Facts that look similar on paper often produce sharply different outcomes once a lawyer examines the medical records, the police report, the insurance policies, and the applicable deadlines. If you were injured, the only way to know what your case is worth is to talk to a lawyer about your case.
We cover only jurisdictions where our firm is licensed and actively practices: New York State, with primary focus on the five boroughs, Long Island, and the lower Hudson Valley. We don't publish content about other states' laws because we don't practice there.
Case Results Disclaimer
When a page references a settlement or verdict, it describes an outcome in a specific matter with specific facts. Prior results do not predict a similar outcome in any other case. New York Rules of Professional Conduct § 7.1 requires that disclaimer and we mean it. The fact pattern, venue, insurance coverage, and medical documentation drive the result more than the injury category.
Paid Content Policy
We don't publish sponsored posts, paid guest articles, or link placements for compensation. No page on aeelaw.com exists because someone paid us to write it. External links on our site point to primary sources (statutes, court decisions, government data) or to our own prior work.
AI and Drafting Tools
We use drafting tools and AI assistants during research and initial drafting, the way most modern law firms now do. Nothing publishes without attorney review. Legal accuracy is verified against the cited statutes and case law before a page goes live. Final content represents the firm's professional judgment, not a model's output.
Corrections
If you find an error, outdated statute reference, broken citation, or factual problem on any page, email [email protected] or call 212-221-5999. We'll review within two business days and correct it with a dated update note if the change is substantive.
